EnglishMobi was founded by Nicole L’Esperance and John Sailors with the aim of using technology to make English learning mobile, convenient, and fun.
As for technology, EnglishMobi is evaluating and creating content for an array of media, from ebooks to mobile apps. These new media allow learners to study on the move, whether on a bus or during lunch break at work. Moreover, they make learning easier with features such as the built-in dictionaries in ebooks. With many tablets, just tap on a word and you may have a choice between an instant dictionary definition and an Internet search.
EnglishMobi also focuses on making learning fun. With a combination of humor and quizzes and games, studying becomes something people look forward to. More important, since learners are in a good mood and enjoying the materials, they are more alert and therefore internalizing the lessons faster.
Both John and Nicole have years of ESL experience ranging from the classroom to multimedia publishing. Together they have created and managed book series, magazines, video series, and radio programming.
With EnglishMobi, they are combining that experience with emerging technologies to lead English learning into the future.
